Obituary of Vickie Lynn Smith

Vickie Lynn (Davis) Smith was born on April 2, 1963 to William Osborne Jr. and Betty Burle Davis in Flint, Michigan. Vickie enjoyed traveling adventures with her adoring husband of 38 years, Jeff, feeling the sand between her toes, being the most amazing Mimi to her grandchildren, delivering great practical jokes, and volunteering her time to better her community. She loved ice cream more than anyone you’ve ever met. Vickie was a compassionate, loving servant to others, constantly lifting others up and pointing them toward Christ, even in her final days. She viewed life as a precious gift from God and strived to live it to the fullest. She was a devoted member of Kingwood Church of Christ in Murfreesboro, TN, and led a GriefShare cancer support group to help other individuals cope and thrive throughout their journeys with the disease. On March 17, 2023, Vickie entered Heaven the way she lived her life: with courage, faith, and a sense of humor, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her father, William Osborne Davis, Jr. Vickie is survived by her adoring husband of 38 years, Jeff; children, Kristen Harvey (Josh), Lindsay, and Collin; mother and best friend, Betty Davis; grandchildren, Nora and William (“Griffin”) Harvey; sister Cathy (Jeff), brother Bill (Laura), and many special nieces and nephews and cherished friends. She also leaves behind her dog Oscar, who protected her and was always by her side. All people die, but not all people live. Vickie lived well, and she is now home with Jesus. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to AGAPE in Nashville (agapenashville.org) or St. Jude Memorial Hospital. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Monday, March 20, 2023 from 4-9 pm and celebration of life on Tuesday, March 21 at 11 am.
