Edna Earl Snipes, 97, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012. Mrs. Snipes was born in Blue Mountain, MS to the late Jesse and Olive Williams. She was a homemaker and a member of Kirk Baptist Church. Mrs. Snipes was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Thomas Shelby Snipes, children, Thomas E. Snipes, Albert M. Snipes, Jesse Samuel Snipes, and Carylon Snipes. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Swaim of Murfreesboro; Shelby Jean Knapp of Murfreesboro; son, Jimmy G. Snipes of Collierville; sisters, Callie Wages of McKenzie, TN; Polly Williams Priest of Baltimore, MD; Aleene Williams of Ripley, MS; grandchildren, Eddie Swaim, Michael Swaim, Jay Eric Swaim, Victor Swaim, Claire Kelley; great grandchildren, Harry "Ted" Swaim, Stephen Swaim, Emily Swaim, Christina Swaim, Carrie Haddock, Jennie Wood, Sam Swaim, Alex Swaim, Jay Swaim, Jordyn Swaim, Seth Swaim, Molly Kelley several great great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 4:00pm until the Funeral service at 6:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Harmon officiating. Graveside service will be Friday, May 4, 2012 at 2:30pm at Magnolia Cemetery in Collierville, TN with Bro. Bob Williams officiating.
