Obituary of Grace A. Marrero

On August 15, 1931, Grace Asunda Faello was born. She was the 1st child of Peter and Louisa Faello. Grace grew up in the Bronx at 1238 Simpson Street with her five siblings Carmine (Sonny), Josephine, Geraldine, Florence and Dolores. Grace met the love of her life, Paquito “Frank” Marrero when she was 16 years old. They married on July 4th, 1952, and soon came their first-born child Peter, followed by Frank Jr, Grace, Michael and Vincent. Grace’s door was open to all and she made everyone feel welcome…because they were! “Everybody went to Gracie’s house”. People would come by just for her company or just to talk when they were down and had problems in their lives. Grace was a true friend and a defender of those she loved and cared for. On Sunday, September 4th, 2022, at the age of 91 years old, the Lord thought it best to call Grace home. She was a devout Catholic, and her faith in Jesus Christ kept her strong and steady. She was a beacon to all who knew her. Her quick wit and strength of character has left a void in our lives. The love she had for her children and family will be the blanket that they cling to as they remember her always. Gracie leaves behind her four children Frank, Grace, Michael and Vincent; Her six grand children Peter, David, Michael, Sheila, Michael Anthony and Jason; Her thirteen great grandchildren Grace, Samantha, Hailey, Shanyia, Jade, Brendon, Noble, Bentley, Rhylee with another great grandson on the way; and her one great-great granddaughter Violet Skye. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00am Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Murfreesboro. Visitation with the family will be 4:00-8:00pm Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with the Rosery recited at 7:00pm
