Obituary of Saniya Armani Lofton

Saniya Lofton, formerly of Decatur, IL, passed away at the tender age of 19, on August 4, 2022, in Antioch, TN. Saniya was born in Atlanta, GA to Stacy Lofton and Silas Carter. After her father’s death, Saniya was raised by her maternal aunt, Cheniaa Pitts-Carter. Saniya graduated from Oakland High School and was set to enter her 2nd year of Montlow College (Smyrna, TN) this fall. She also held a waitressing job at Cheddar’s. Saniya loved to run track. She loved nature and would visit the marinas and nature trails regularly. She was kind, giving, and smart. She was awesome and truly was one-of-a-kind. Saniya leaves to cherish her precious memories: her mother, Cheniaa Pitts-Carter; grandparent, Christine Rahe; great-grandparents, May (Wayne) Carter; brothers, Dasilas Carter, Fred, Piere, and Jordan Robinson, and Calvin Whitfield, Jr of Murfreesboro, TN. Her uncle, Leondus Carter of Kewanee, IL. Special cousins, Danelle Tyus, Diamond Phelps, Destiny, Damarr, Jhett, Lauryn, and Alex, as well as a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and relatives. Saniya’s closest friends include: Ayonn Rhodes, Debriaun Jones, The Gonzales family, Martha Raphael, D’Erica Hunter, Sammy Palmore, Taliyah Marshall, Shomey Botho, Chrishawn Williams, La’Davious Williams, Tim Bell, Kenya Smith, Breanna S., Malik Jordan, and Dacaytia Cherry. Saniya was preceded in death by her father, Silas Carter. Saniya had a wonderful personality, and her infectious smile will be missed by all that knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 12pm.
