William Dunham Gainey of Murfreesboro, TN went to be with the Lord Saturday, July 2, 2022. He was born in Bainbridge, GA May 26, 1932, graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, earned his Master’s Degree of Theology at The Biblical Seminary in New York City, New York. He was ordained in the Presbyterian Church September 30, 1962. He served the Lord at churches in White Plains, New York, Shelter Island, New York, Royal Oak, MI, Murfreesboro, TN, Manchester, TN, Noah, TN and McMinnville, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents Leon Donelson Gainey and Hazel Miller Gainey. His brothers Leon Gainey, and Douglas Gainey. His sisters Louise McRae and Annabelle Usry. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Bill was dearly loved and is survived by his wife Elizabeth Gainey, daughter Beth Carlton, son Brad Gainey (Vicky). Grandchildren Sarah Streichert (Kristopher), Adam Carlton (Bri), Lori Carlton (Joshua), Jamie Hardin, Emily Gainey (Jason). Great grandchildren Keira, Trent, Lena, Mark, Anie, John, Charles and Marcy. His brother Albert Gainey (Coleen) and sister Linda Gainey. Bill was a compassionate man who loved God, His family, his friends and the church. He will be greatly missed by many.
