Deborah Lee Klar, age 71 year, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2021. BIRTH: Born in 1950 in Piqua, Ohio to John and Mary Jane (Biesel) Klopf. Brother Mark (and Lisa) Klopf and half brother Gary Sherman. She moved to Nashville in 1978. FAMILY: Husband - Alfred H Klar. Daughters - Angela Marie (and Hunter) Williams, Erica Jane (and Timothy) Harrison. Eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. EMPLOYMENT: Worked most of her employment life in accounting and bookkeeping. She retired when she was 60 to enjoy more time with her family and grandchildren. HOBBIES: For over twenty years she had a passion for growing orchids. At one time she had her own greenhouse with over 100 orchids. On many occasions she delivered several of her orchids to nursing homes and setup orchid displays for the residents. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers at her home. Birds and Blooms magazine published two photographs of her flowers. She also painted in watercolors and designed her own greeting cards as a hobby. She loved to power walk almost everyday, as it was her avenue to be outside in God’s nature and exercise at the same time. She also loved her weekend rides in her 1979 MGB as she and Al rode through the countryside, enjoying the scenery. TRAVEL: She traveled several trips abroad with her husband, especially enjoying her trips to Israel and Germany. VOLUNTEER WORK: Debbie believed in making a difference in people's lives. She has volunteered at various nursing homes throughout her years reading scriptures to the residents. She was also a volunteer who served meals to the homeless at a local shelter. FAITH: Debbie was a member at Third Baptist Church in Murfreesboro. She believed faith in God and Jesus as Savior the most valuable possession in a person’s life. She valued her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She thought each person in her life was a gift from God. Visitation with the family will be 5:00-8:00 pm Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 10:00 am Friday, April 22, 2022 at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
