Caroline Hoover Hawk, age 86 of Murfreesboro, TN passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Ascension St. Thomas Rutherford. Caroline was born in 1935 to parents French Lowe and Margaret D. Hoover. She graduated from MTSU with a BS degree in English and served as a teacher at Kittrell for thirteen years. She is survived by her two sons, David R. Hawk of Smithville, TN. and John R. Hawk of Murfreesboro, TN. granddaughters; Margaret Elizabeth Hawk, Morgan Lee Hawk, grandson; Austin D. Hawk, great granddaughters; Riley Renee Lee Hawk, and beloved puppy Mac, along with her two sisters; Helen Nipper, and Mary Johnson, and nine nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Floyd Richard (Dick) Hawk, sister; Margaret Todd, brothers; Thomas F. Hoover Sr., and French Hoover Jr. Caroline was the great granddaughter of the late Governor of Tennessee John Price Buchanan. Caroline entered the Kingdom of Heaven surrounded by her loving family. A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, 519 Greenland Drive, Murfreesboro, TN on Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 11:00 AM with nephews serving as pallbearers. Murfreesboro Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
