Obituary of Dena Rene Kaag

Born on May 19 or 20, 1959 in Warsaw, IN to Shirley and the late Tillman Goble, Dena (Lacey) Rene Kaag passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 14, 2022 in Shelbyville, TN. Dena met her soul mate and partner-in-crime, Matt Kaag back in November 1996 and moved from Murfreesboro, TN to Peoria, IL where Matt worked at Caterpillar. Eventually they married in July 2001. In 2020, Matt and Dena moved to Shelbyville, TN to Dena’s runner up dream home. In addition to her husband, Dena leaves behind her four children, Dennis (Anna) Martin, Tony Martin, Cayonna Martin and Mindy (Buddy) Lawson; nineteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, all of whom she absolutely loved. Dena also left behind her mother Shirley Ann Goble; brother Dennis (Lynnette) Goble; her brother Duane (Judy) Goble, her sister Donna (Tom) Snyder and her sister Denise (Keith) Fenech; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her dad, Tillman Goble and her sister, Danette Lovelace. Dena’s greatest pleasure was playing with her grandchildren, crafting and traveling with her husband and sisters. Visitation with the family will be 4:00-6:00pm Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life at 6:00pm. There will be a reception with the family after the Celebration of Life at the Carriage Lane Inn, 337 E Burton St, Murfreesboro, TN 37130. The family has requested no flower.
