Obituary of Keith Edward Wilson

Keith Edward Wilson was born July 31,1953 in Anna, IL to Jack and Deloris Wilson. The eldest of their four children. He passed away January 28, 2022 in his home in Murfreesboro, TN with his loving family by his side. Keith grew up in Vienna, IL where he graduated high school with the class of 1972. He enlisted into the United States Navy in 1973 and was honorably discharged in 1976. He started his career driving a truck until he unwillingly retired in July of 2021. When he wasn't on the road providing for his family, you could find him camping, fishing, hitting unfamiliar mud holes on a dare, watching old western movies in his recliner with his lapdog Maggie, or sipping coffee and telling tall tales to anyone who'd listen. Keith loved his wife, Rebecca Wilson, of almost 40 years, children and grandchildren with all his heart and would do anything for them. Papa Keith enjoyed spending time with family, singing just one word in songs such as "Hello Darlin", fishing trips, sharing his stories about how the big one got away, here pull my finger and cheering on the kids at their many sporting events. He was the Rock and biggest supporter to his large and growing family. He will forever be an important piece to the lives of those who knew him best. He will be remembered for his plaid button up shirts, yosemitie sam belt buckle, cowboy boots"heel toe heel toe", ticklish feet, tea parties, best listening ear, no grudge holding stubborn ways, and he could catch fire to anything-just let him touch it. Keith was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Deloris Wilson and great-granddaughter Olivia Faye Horton, Survivors include his wife Rebecca Wilson Children: daughter Wendy Maennche, son Bill Baker, daughter Cindy VanCleve and Jeff, daughter Jennifer Burrows and Allen, daughter Michele VanCleve and John, daughter Brandie Layhew and Shane, son Bryan Baker, daughter Jamie Simmerson and Ray, son Keith Wilson Jr., daughter Christina Peace and Brad. Grandchildren: Julieann Horman, Brittney Chamness, Alan Burrows, Freddie Fells, Andrea Meanor-Walter, Dakota VanCleve, Brent Baker, Jordan Fells, Sabrie Horton, Allie Fells, Kristin Jones, Jacob VanCleve, Myrick Martin, Sarena Burrows, Emily Fells, Kyle VanCleve, Ryan VanCleve, Callista Southerland, Brianna Hatfield, Kaitlyn Peace, Payton Layhew, Gabriel Martin, Marisa Simmerson, Savannah Burrows, Teagan Layhew, Haley Peace, Greyson Layhew, Julie Wilson, Kyran Peace, Samuel Tinsley, Ray Simmerson, Emily Wilson, Keith Wilson III, Autumn Baker, Josiah Peace, 29 great grandchildren. Siblings: Vicki Adams, Mike Wilson, Mary Wilson. Visitation with the family will 4:00-8:00pm Monday, January 31, 2022 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Republican Grove Cemetery.
