Eric Lee Vandervort, 51, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Middle TN Medical Center. He was born at Hamilton Air Force Base, Marin County, CA. Eric worked in Avionics for NASA and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wade Vandervort, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Martha Vandervort of Murfreesboro; children, Serena (Jonathan) Hobbs of Mt. Juliet and Joe (Michelle) Vandervort of Smyrna; grandchildren, JJ and Caden Vandervort, Jordan Hobbs and granddaughter on the way, Ella Hobbs; devoted friend, Greta Vincent of Murfreesboro; brothers, Robert (Lydia) Vandervort of Knoxville, James Vandervort of Murfreesboro, Scott Vandervort of Lavergne, John (Dorothy) Vandervort of Murfreesboro; sisters, Ruth Carol (Tim) Hawkins of Murfreesboro and Susan (Lyle) Lynch of Murfreesboro; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family with be Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 4 pm - 8 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at a later time.
