Obituary of Matthew Chad Weaver

Matthew Chad Weaver, 39, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee passed away in his sleep on the morning of January 12th, 2022 in Murfreesboro. Funeral Services will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on January 19th at 7:00 PM with Ruthan Patient of Concord United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be held at the same location from 4:00 until the service starts at 7:00. A Masonic funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 and is open to the public. Murfreesboro Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. Matthew was born at Ft. Benning, Georgia to Sam and Vicki Weaver on June 25th, 1982. He went to Smyrna High School, graduating in 2000, and attended UT and MTSU. He was a member of Rockvale Lodge #413 F&AM. Matthew was a loving son, brother and uncle, as well as a devoted friend to many people throughout his life. He loved being outdoors whenever possible, camping, hiking and kayaking were his favorite activities, especially when with the friends and family he loved. While camping or at Muddy Roots, he relished adding log after log to the fire to build the biggest fire possible and always wanted to feed everyone. He was a skilled cook and especially enjoyed highlighting his skill while others were cooking (mom). He was a selfless man, ready to give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. He had a unique sense of humor, but always loved a good laugh and would delight those lucky to be around him seeing that bright smile pierce through his long brown beard. Matthew is survived by his loving Mother, Vicki Weaver of Murfreesboro, his Father, Sam Weaver Jr. (Vickie Brannon) of Rockvale, two brothers Ben (Jessica) and Ray Weaver, Step-sister Karen (Jaime) Matlock, Step-brothers Lance (Susie) and Travis (Melody) King, and a tremendous amount of heartbroken friends. He leaves behind nephews Joshua, Forrest and Brannon and nieces Emily and Miranda, who love their uncle dearly. Matthew’s death is a heart crushing loss for all those who have been blessed to know and love him. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or an Outdoor/Wildlife preservation charity.
