Barbara Lynne Swain Rifkin, 66, passed unexpectedly January 9, 2022, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. She was born July 29, 1955 in Saginaw, MI, the daughter of Ernest and Bonnie Weiss Swain.
Barb loved with her whole heart. She loved deeply and was greatly loved in return. She loved life, adventure, and all the beauty of God’s nature. She had an enduring, positive smile and an over-abundant joy of giving. She loved with a heart that knew well the love of her Savior. The light in her shone out to those around her. Barb was a conqueror and her life is a testimony of God’s goodness. She had a passion for her family, friends, and most of all Jesus.
Survivors in addition to her husband, Ed Rifkin, are daughter, Sarah Kennedy and her husband Don of Murfreesboro; daughter Suzanne Yoder and her husband George of Murfreesboro; son David Wing of Murfreesboro; daughter Jessie Snider and her husband Jake of Smyrna; son Josh Rifkin of Murfreesboro; 14 grandchildren, Caleb McCoy, Andrew McCoy, Justin McCoy, Joel McCoy, Kassidy Yoder, Preston Yoder, Braedon Yoder, Greyson Yoder, Alyssa Brady, Haley Brady, Megan Brady, Tyler Snider, Emma Snider, Logan Snider; and 1 great-grandchild Easton Brady; one brother, Bill Swain and his wife, Julianne, of Sevierville.
A service in remembrance will be held 7 p.m. Saturday, January 15 at Believer’s Chapel, 1820 S. Rutherford Blvd., Murfreesboro, with viewing from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Private interment will be at Coleman Cemetery, Murfreesboro.
