Obituary of Anna Margaret Chambliss
Please share a memory of Anna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Anna “Polly” Margaret Chambliss, 93 of Murfreesboro TN, departed for her heavenly home on December 26, 2021, which was the anniversary of her mother’s passing. She was greeted in heaven with a smile and hug from her husband, former police chief William “Buddy” Chambliss, her sons David Chambliss and William Chambliss JR, daughter Mamye Chambliss, grandsons John Michael and Brian Messick. She was also proceeded in death by two brothers and her parents.
Anna was a dedicated member of St. Rose Catholic Church, and well known in the community for her time spent as a local crossing guard and meter maid for the Murfreesboro Police Department. She was a homemaker, a joke teller, a handcrafter, and a regular at the Garden Patch. Her greatest legacy was the generations of children she raised and sacrificed for. If you ever met “Granny,” you had no choice but to love and adore her. A chuckle and a few words of advice is what she made sure to gift everyone she met, followed by “Just one more thing”! This spitfire of a woman will be missed beyond words from the grandkids that she loved more than anything; Andrew, Tyler, Savannah & Nick, Ivye, Thomas, and Gary, as well as great-grandkids Owen and Jackson.
The family would like to personally thank Caris Hospice for the excellent level of care and treatment they provided for Granny.
