Obituary of Katherine Potts

Katherine Louise Potts, 86, of Murfreesboro, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Community Care of Rutherford County. Mrs. Potts was born in Johnson City, TN to the late Edward and Martha Freeman. She was a longtime bookkeeper with Castner Knott. She was a member of 1st Christian Church. She was a longtime volunteer for American Red Cross and volunteered at VA Hospital in Nashville. Mrs. Potts was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Leo Potts, and the father of her children, Fred Ewell McCormick. She is survived by her children, Melody (Kirk) Collamer of Tucson, AZ; Randy McCormick of Sevierville; Steve (Anne) McCormick of Murfreesboro; Lisa (Charles) Pennel of Snellville, GA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 9:00am at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Adkins officiating. Graveside service will be Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 11:00am at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery with burial to follow. Pallbearers will be Chad Cobble, Ryan McCormick, John Donnelly, Kirk Collamer, Charles Pennel, and Steve McCormick.
