Obituary of Thomas Edward Smotherman

Thomas Edward Smotherman, age 73 of Christiana, TN passed away at home surrounded by his loving family. He was valedictorian of his graduating class and graduated with honors as a member of the Beta Club Chapter. He also served his country proudly as a member of the US Army and was a purple heart recipient before being honorably discharged. He was born on October 1, 1948, to the late William and Mary Ellen Douglas Smotherman. Also preceded in death by his daughter; Lea Smotherman, sister; Patsy Lokey and a brother; Clyde Smotherman. He is survived by his son; Michael Smotherman (Amanda Faulk), daughter; Nicole Smotherman Rae (Scott), lifelong companion; Deanna Pearson, grandchildren; Maci Smotherman, Ava Smotherman, Oaklynn Smotherman, Eli Rae, Lukas Rae, Shawna Taylor, Lauren Robertson, great grandchildren; Aleigha Taylor, Aiden Taylor, Micah Taylor, brothers; Hollis Smotherman (Brenda), Doug Smotherman (Terry), and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation with the family will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Friday, November 26, 2021, from 4pm – 8pm. Services will be November 27, 2021, at 2pm with interment to follow at Whitworth Cemetery. Pastor Roy Robinson will be officiating. Murfreesboro Funeral Home is honored to serve the Smotherman family.
