Obituary of Joan Helen Harris

Joan Helen Harris, age 87 of Murfreesboro, TN went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 12, 2021.
She was a long-time member of Northside Baptist Church.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; John Arthur and Zena Katherine Haynes Harrington, and a sister; Katherine Sulc.
She was survived by her loving husband of 66 years George Harris, son; John (Sarah) Harris, daughter; Martha (Greg) Young, grandchildren; Catherine (Shane) Harvey, Michael Harris, Rebecca Harris, Hunter (Maddie) Young, David (Kayla) Young, Grace Young, and a sister; Mary Shelley.
She was a proud graduate of the University of Tennessee. She lovingly taught first through third grade students with skill and compassion. After teaching, she found her life’s passion working with disabled clients at Tennessee Rehabilitation Center, later retiring after 20 years of service.
Visitation with the family will be held at Northside Baptist Church on Sunday, November 14, 2021, from 2 p.m – 4 p.m. A graveside service will be Monday, November 15, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor David Bramble officiating.
In lieu of flowers, her family would love to honor her memory with donations made to Samaritanspurse.org.
