Janet Louise Shelton, age 78 of Murfreesboro, TN went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 25, 2021.
She was born on June 18, 1943, in Sandy Ridge, VA to the late James and Anna Kiser Kilgore.
Janet was a long-standing member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school classes, lead bible studies and co-chair church events.
She was survived by her loving husband of 51 years William Shelton, sons; Stephen (Marlisa) Newman, Michael Newman (Kurt Eckman), daughter; Jennifer Darling, grandchildren; David Newman, Ian Newman, Abby Darling, Matt Darling, Lawson Darling, and brother; Dwayne (Sandra) Kilgore.
She was a self-taught artist and taught others to paint as well. She loved life and her love for her children and grandchildren were her passion in her life.
Visitation with the family will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Sunday, October 31, 2021, from 10am – 12pm with service to follow at 12pm. There will be at private family burial follow the service at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Mitchell Carter officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations be made to American Cancer Society in her name.
