Obituary of Joseph Seaford Ramsey

Joseph Seaford Ramsey, age 49 of Murfreesboro, TN passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. Joseph graduated Paul Mitchel Cosmetology School. He is preceded in death by his parents; Joseph W. and Hattie Mae Ramsey, a daughter; Alaila Ariel Ramsey, and a sister; Eva Diane Steele. Joseph was survived by his wife; Tracey Ramsey (Murfreesboro, TN), daughter; Isis Ramsey (Murfreesboro, TN), stepsons; Demarco Harrison (Murfreesboro, TN), Zachary Harrison (Murfreesboro, TN), brother; Keith Robinson (Nashville, TN), sisters; Melody Ramsey (Antioch, TN), Karyn A. Ramsey (Detroit, MI), nephews; Clinton Steele IV (Nashville, TN), Tanyen Willis (Nashville, TN), Keith Shelton (Detroit, MI), nieces; Lucretia Steele (Nashville, TN), Erica Steele (Nashville, TN), Jasmine Steele (Nashville, TN), Tanya Willis (Nashville, TN), Trinity Willis (Nashville, TN), special aunt; Voneile Ramsey Cassell (Cleveland, OH) and a host of great nieces and great nephews, relatives, and friends. Joseph was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved to spend time with his family, supporting others in need and nurturing the youth. He was an avid learner and loved sharing his knowledge. He was a naturalist and a spiritualist who believed in the inner and outer God in us all. He loved his hometown of Detroit, MI. and was a fan of all the Michigan teams especially the Detroit Lions. He enjoyed watching and playing sports. He was a great man with many morals and values and held strong in his beliefs. He will be deeply missed. Pallbearers will be Demarco Harrison, Zachary Harrison, Melody Ramsey, Clinton (CJ) Steele IV, Derek Randolph, and Cliff Scott. Visitation will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, from 10am - 2pm with services to follow at 2pm in the chapel. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro, TN. I’m Free Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free I’m following the path God has chosen for me. I took his hand when I heard him call I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way I’ve now found peace at the end of the day. If my parting lad left a void, Then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a miss Oh yes, these things, I too will miss. Be not burdened with the times of sorrow Look for the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full, I savored much Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch. Perhaps my time seems all to brief Don’t lengthen your pain with undue grief. Lift up your heart and peace to thee, God wanted me now – He set me free.
