Hazel Nicholas Van De Hoef, 95, passed away peacefully at The Villages of Murfreesboro, TN on Saturday, August 28, 2021. After Hazel retired from OneGas; she volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a Blue Angel for two area Hospitals in Nederland, TX for 20 years. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Mike Nicholas and Elia Touchet George; her husband of 43 years, Adrian Van De Hoef; sisters, Laura Boyd, Dorothy Gann and granddaughter, Janette Van De Hoef. Hazel is survived by four children, Mike (Marilyn) Van De Hoef of Lockhart, TX; Gayle (Wayne)Yancey of Murfreesboro, TN; Steve Van De Hoef of Dale, TX; Patti (Tony) Gengo of Sachse, TX; 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; her brother Mike Nicholas,and nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of The Villages of Murfreesboro and Willowbrook Hospice for all their love and care they gave our Mom. For those who wish; memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association. Due to Covid a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
