Obituary of Richard Wayne (Bill) Driver

Richard Wayne (Bill) Driver, 85, passed away Sunday, April 18 at his residence, surrounded by his wife and children. He grew up in Cannon and Coffee counties and has lived in Murfreesboro for the last 54 years. He was a member of Salem Creek Church of Christ. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Bennett and Bertha Driver, sisters Juanita Blackburn, Marie Nippers and Faye Vaughn, brothers Thomas Driver and Larry Gail Driver He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty Fay Stacey Driver: Daughter Shaila (Ken) Travis and son Marty (Connie) Driver. Grand children: Andrew Scofield, Adam Scofield, Alex (Jessie) Scofield, Dylan Driver, William Neal (Ashlynn) Travis and Tyler (Ana) Travis, Valinda Seese, Quenna Seese, and great-grandchildren Emma Scofield, Lilith Cunningham and Elijah Travis. In addition, he is survived by 3 brothers: Huey (Pat) Driver, Gary (Euna) Driver and Dale Driver. Visitation with the family will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from 4pm – 8pm with service on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 2pm. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma, TN with Bro. Ron Harper officiating. Bill loved all animals, especially dogs. He enjoyed the outdoors, coached girls’ softball at Buchanan School, loved sports and loved operating his tractor and bulldozer. Grandsons will be pall bearers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Salem Creek Church of Christ or Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro.
