Betty L. Files, 84, of Christiana, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Files was born in Merchantville, N.J. to the late Thos E. and Ethel M. Gibbs. She was a homemaker and a member of Fellowship First United Methodist.
Mrs. Files was preceded in death by her parents, adopted, Harry C. and Bessie B. Risser, husband, Bruce W. Files, brother, Herbie Gibbs and grandchild, Jason Jennings. She is survived by her children, Richard E. (Janice) Jennings of Grapeview, WA; Betty I. (Billy) Merrigan of Philadelphia, PA; Lynda M. (Robby) Roberts of Christiana; grandchildren, Christopher Rodgers, Desiree Florek; Melissa Jennings; Richard Jennings Jr.; great grandchildren,Tyler, Brianna, Gabrielle, Cody, Tegan, Katelyn, brother, Wayne Gibbs of Duran, N.J.; and sister, Mazie Ahlum of Burlington, N.J.
Visitation will be Monday, February 27, 2012 from 12:00pm until the memorial service at 2:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Don Morris officiating.
In lieu of flowers family ask for donations be made to Alzheimer Association.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Varina "Pebbles" Cobb Health Care Giver.
