Willie D. Dorris Douglas, 71, of Christiana, passed away Thursday, February 02, 2012 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Mr. Douglas was a native and life long resident of Christiana. He was a veteran of the United States Army and of the Christian Faith. He was a framing contractor and he loved life. Mr. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Lydia Douglas Sr., brothers, Richard, James, and Melvin Douglas; sisters, Mary Ellen Smotherman, Clara Smotherman; Linda Travis, Betty Batey, and beloved pet Sierra. He is survived by his brothers, Chester Douglas; Mack (Hazel) Douglas; Leonard "Jr" (Kathleen) Douglas; Bobby (Louise) Douglas all of Christiana; sisters, Joan (Calvin) Faulk of Bell Buckle; Frieda (Jesse) Haney of Christiana; several nieces and nephews; sister in law, Cornelia Douglas of Murfreesboro; beloved pets, Sydney, Oliver, Bobby, and Goldie. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, February 04, 2012 from 2:00pm until the Celebration of Life at 6:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Military Honors to follow. Special thanks to niece Sandra and nephew Ricky for their loving care.
