I've known Sgt. Black for over 25+ years, most of those in corrections. Even as a Sgt. he would always try to be the first through the door, (before me) when someone was in trouble. Always could make you laugh so much, you would be crying at the end. But he was also a serious person, and someone you could confide in.
We have lost a great man, husband, friend and brother. Even as I type this message, I'm holding back tears, thinking about all the great times and situations we've had.
You will be missed my friend. I know you've got us covered from above.
You're 10-7 Sgt. Black

Wow what can I say about this man. This is Sgt. Bliggity to me :) from the first time I saw him at Western Wayne to the last time I spoke to him, NOTHING but love came from this man. His hugs were the best, words of wisdom came from the heart and his soul. He will forever be missed. Love you always.

I miss you Bill. I am sorry you have moved on so early but of course we have no say so in our destiny. Your life was an example of what so many strive for. I am thankful to have worked with you and to have been your friend.

He was always known as Sgt. Black to me and he always enjoyed this title. He was a very loving, giving person that always was up beat and on the positive side. He kept us working with his positive spirit and his work ethic. He loved life and I pray he had time to enjoy himself while living down south. He deserved to enjoy himself and be with his family. We, his work family will miss him but we will remember him with love and admiration.

As Williams son, I have so many great memories with my dad. He was an amazing man that worked hard, cared about his family, and had a great sense humor.
One of my favorite stories I have from my dad... He used to have a big 4x4 off road pickup truck many years back. In the winter's up in Michigan he would help pull motorists out of the ditch or median if the got off the road and got stuck (for a small fee of course).
Well he came across this guy that was stuck, my dad told him it would be $30 to pull him out. The guy agreed and my dad quickly got his chains hooked up and pulled him out. Before my dad unhooked the chains he asked the guy for payment. The guy got pissed off and said "I'm not paying you, it only took you 2 minutes of work". My dad tried to discuss this with him but got no where with him. Well..... with chains still hooked up to this guy's car, my dad put his truck back in drive and drug this guy's car all the way back down in the ditch, got out of his truck smiled and unhooked the chains all while this guy was yelling and screaming at him.
That guy learned a lesson that day because of my dad haha. My dad didn't take crap from anyone.
I loved my dad dearly and I will miss him very much.
