Edward Hall Gannon Sr., 80, of Murfreesboro, passed away Monday, December 12, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Gannon was a native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County. He was a longtime employee of the City of Murfreesboro, a member of Science Hill Church of Christ, and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Gannon was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Benjamin and Beulah Rollins Gannon; brothers, Benjamin, Robert, and Russell Gannon. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Geneva Gannon of 57 years; children, Edward Gannon Jr. of Murfreesboro; Dorothy (Johnny) VanDervort of Readyville; Diane (Terry) Speck of Rockvale; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Stanley Gannon; Wayne Gannon; James Gannon; Charles Gannon all of Murfreesboro; sisters, Elsie Stem of Murfreesboro; Geneva Black of Murfreesboro; Evelyn Lane of Clarksville; and Mildred Black of Murfreesboro. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 1:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Mitchell and Bro. Bud Mitchell officiating. Burial to follow at Coleman Cemetery with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
