Sheila Marlene Mathis, 66 of Murfreesboro, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Mrs. Mathis was born in Shelbyville. She was a child care provider for many years and was a member of Third Baptist Church. Mrs. Mathis was preceded in death by her father, George Olive; husband, Paul Mathis; infant son, Timothy Mathis; and grandson, Joshua Ervin. She is survived by her sons, Marcus (Shelly) Mathis of Murfreesboro; Jason (Cindy) Mathis of Murfreesboro; Toby (Renee) Mathis of Kansas City, KS; daughters, Melissa (Jeremy) Johnson of Murfreesboro; Tracey (Frank) Scussell of Hilliard, FL; Paula (Roy) Deason of Murfreesboro; Savannah Mathis of Murfreesboro; eleven grandchild; 2 step great grandchildren; mother, Pauline Olive of Christiana; brother, David Olive of Christiana. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, January 25, 2011 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 2:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Rev W.D. Thomason and Bro. Barney Rickman officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
