I am so very sorry for your loss. Please find comfort in God's sure promise of a resurrection as set forth in the Bible. (Acts 24:15; John 5:28,29) Those who are raised to life will have the prospect of never again being subject to misery, sickness, or death. (Revelation 21:4) I hope that reflecting on these thoughts will give you some relief during this difficult time.

Do not be amazed at this for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out . John 5:28,29

Billy has been our friend over quite a number of years. We first met him when we visited his mother over 20 years ago and as he was a cousin we have been in touch ever since. We have been entertained in his home and have been hosted by him a number of times. He will be sorely missed by his family and the community in which he lived and worked. He was widely known in Murfreesboro as the owner of the local cinema for 40 years. As a fireman he also made many friends both in Murfreesboro and the surrounding towns in Tennessee in particular. A member of the Presbyterian Church and one interested in local and family history, Billy was both honest and friendly and that is attested to by his large circle of friends and acquaintances. Billy was also generous to many and a great family man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, Alice and his children as they absorb the loss of a loving and faithful husband and father. Billy will be sorely missed. May god continue to pour blessings on his family.

Alice and family,
Billy was one of a few Murfreesboro friends who had closely worked with my father, Andy Jonas. After Mom and Dad sold their indoor and drive-in theatres in N West Tn, Dad's work ethic would not entertain the words RETIREMENT. He loved the sound systems of the theatre business as did Billy. I loved hearing Billy tell stories about Dad.
Thank you for bringing the independent locally owned theatre to Murfreesboro.
With sympathy and wishes for strength,
Andrea

But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.
I Thessalonians 4:13-14
Alice and family:
I am deeply saddened and will pray that God comforts you during this time of grief. Heaven's gain is a great loss to so many in this life. I am glad he is out of pain but I miss him. Bill was a great friend, a generous mentor - always willing to offer advice and share his wealth of knowledge. He was truly a brilliant and kind and sincere and funny guy! I have never known anyone quite like him and likely never will.

I send my thoughts and prayers to all the family. Have not seen Bill for some time. John and I ran around together and he lived with me in Kittrell '78-'79 . I did some work on Bills house on Maple Street several years ago. I knew his mother, father, sister and visited John there often. Sorry for your loss God bless all. Rob Sauer

It is said one man"s death affects us all. Well, Bill's death will affect all of those who were fortunate enough to cross his path. I never met a more selfless person in my life. The things he accomplished in his lifetime would pale in comparison to most people. He was a successful businessman, a firefighter, heavy equipment operator, policeman, electrician, theater technician, photographer and political mover and shaker and that's just a start. Most importantly he was a mentor and a friend to hundreds of people. I was blessed to be one of those people. The person who let us spend countless hours with him was his wife Alice. She was the love of his life, his partner in life and in business. His daughter Misty was someone he always relied on. He could always count on her to be there when he needed her. He was blessed to have them all those years and most importantly in the final days of his life. I would be remiss to say that his best friend and confidant for nearly 50 years, Howard Ross, was at his side in the beginning and at the end.
Bill's legacy will live on in all the many lives he touched. I will always miss him.

I am so sorry for the loss of Bill. He was a wonderful friend and I will feel his loss keenly. I have fond memories of Bill from Mitchell-Neilson and recent years. I will miss coming to Murfreesboro and visiting with him and Alice. Melissa and I know how much that Alice, Misty, his family, and friends miss and grieve for him; we also share everyone's grief. It is a sad time for all of us. Words can do little at this time to ease this grief, but we will keep Bill's family and friends in our thoughts and prayers.

Bill Brooks was my very first boss, and I spent the most amazing year and a half working for him at Premiere 6 Theatre. I learned so much from him, and his passing is truly heartbreaking. Murfreesboro just isn’t Murfreesboro without Mr. Brooks. To Alice and family, my heart is with you all in this period of grief. May time and love heal your wounds.
