Obituary of Joan Loyce Haley Vasser Alford

Joan Loyce Haley Vasser Alford of Springfield, TN, passed from this life on Sunday, April 15, 2018. She was born in Coffee County, TN to her parents, Sanford and Audie Ferrell Haley who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Geneva Hoover.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years, James Alford; children, Sandy Vasser (Ricky) Reed of Readyville, John (Pam) Vasser of Murfreesboro, Don (Wendy) Alford of Hendersonville, and Mark (Shannon) Alford of Lebanon; grandchildren, Lindsay and Holly Reed, Alex and Miranda Vasser, Jonathan (Kristen) Alford, Chance (Krista) Alford, Jordan (Chelsea) Alford, Anna and Jackson Alford; great-grandchildren, Bella, McClain, Levi, and River Alford; brothers, Phillip Haley of Peoria, IL and Royce (Marie) Haley of Murfreesboro; sisters, Marie Campbell, Irene Hunter, and Joyce (Wayne) Davenport, all of Murfreesboro.

Mrs. Alford was a graduate of Manchester Central High School and was a member of Main Street Church of Christ in Springfield. She retired from First American Bank in 1997.

Visitation will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm and Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from 11:00 am until time of service. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm with Barry Throneberry officiating. Interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Murfreesboro, TN.
