Ruth Embry Smith, 94, of Murfreesboro passed away November 10, 2011 at NHC Healthcare. Mrs. Smith was born in Sulphur Springs, AL to the late Orville and Jessie Henshaw. She was a member of the Methodist faith. She and her husband owned Manchester Upholstery, later moving the business to Tullahoma and known as Tullahoma Upholstery until their retirement.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Terrell Reid, Sherman Embry, Lawrence Smith, and son, Bill Reid. She is survived by her children, Clayton S. Embry; Robin Dianne Young both of Murfreesboro; brothers, Bill (Helen) Henshaw of Lynchburg; Kenneth (Beryle) Henshaw of Hendersonville; sister, Opal Wallace of Hendersonville; step children, Betty Adgowzski of Caneyville, KY; Milton Embry of Moapa, NV; James Embry of Riverdale, IL; several step grandchildren.
Graveside service will be Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11:00 am at Maplewood Cemetery with Pastor Paul Purdue officiating.
