Obituary of Mary Jo Tyree

Born in Big Spring, Texas, April 10, 1955, Jody grew up in west and central Texas before moving to middle Tennessee in 1979. She married the love of her life and raised a family in Murfreesboro, TN.

Never one to meet a stranger, Jody’s warmth and infectious laugh could fill a room. Her kindness and generosity of heart was known by all that knew her.

Jody was a member of City Church Murfreesboro, a proud grandmother of three boys and lover of the great outdoors. As an avid cook, Jody’s repertoire of recipes and passion for ingredients from her garden or frequented farmers market were tasted in everything she prepared.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years Clyde Tyree, daughters Heather (Kevin) Johnson, Houston, TX, Keva (Trevor) Atwood, Murfreesboro, TN and Rachel Tyree, Washington, DC, sisters Deborah (Phillip) Fajardo, Georgetown, TX and Janie (Todd) Smith, Georgetown, TX, three grandchildren Micah, Isaac, and Simon Atwood and parents Eugene Mayfield, Houston, TX and Mary Mullins Mayfield, Georgetown, TX.

Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Rosebank Cemetery, Flat Creek, TN.
