Obituary of Ed Pullen
Ed Pullen, age 95, a longtime resident of Statesboro from Damascus, Ga. passed away on October 8, 2017. He was a United States Naval Officer during World War II. Ed graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in AG Engineering.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents: Roy and Florrie Pullen, brother: Bill Pullen. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Jennie Pullen; a son Eddie Pullen; two granddaughters; Kelsey (Pete) Everett of Lilburn, Ga.; Blair (Arlo) Arvidson of Murfreesboro, Tenn., six great grandchildren: Emilyn, Brenna, Ansley, Rowan, Campbell, Peter and sister-in-law: Martha Pullen of Wildwood, Ga.
In high school, Ed was a standout basketball player that went to the state championship and won. He played the trumpet in high school and college bands.
Ed loved fishing and bird hunting. He loved to fly so much that he had two planes. He was a huge Georgia football fan and had a great love for camping.
Ed enjoyed spending a lot of time with his granddaughters Kelsey and Blair. He would take them to the playground, parks and the swimming pool.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Murfreesboro Funeral Home.
