Obituary of Jack Bruce Reeves

Jack Bruce Reeves, age 85, of Murfreesboro passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, September  23, 2017. 

He was born August 8, 1932 to Walter and Mary McMillen Reeves in Alexandria, TN.  He joined the United States Air Force in 1952 and was honorably discharged in 1956.  Jack married Mary Anna Jernigan in Murfreesboro on April 26, 1958.  They moved to Cookeville, TN, where Jack received his Bachelor’s Degree from Tennessee Tech University.  Jack was an ordained deacon and actively served in the Baptist church for many years.  He retired from James C. Hailey Company.

Jack is survived by his loving wife Mary of 59 years; children Stephen Reeves and wife Jane of Louisville, KY and Allison Reeves of Murfreesboro; 2 grandsons, Hunter Reeves and wife Sara of Lexington, KY and Brandon Reeves of Louisville, KY; 1 grand-Godson Weston Bruff of Murfreesboro; 1 brother Joe Reeves and wife Nancy of Murfreesboro; 5 sister-in-law’s: Dorene Jernigan of Atlanta, GA, Ruth Joy Jernigan of Manchester, TN, Madalyn Jernigan of Murfreesboro, Mary Jernigan of Murfreesboro, Fay Jernigan of Manchester, TN; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Mary McMillen Reeves. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 26, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.  Memorial service will be Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 1:00pm Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Rev.
