Obituary of Georgia Ella Smith McMurrary

Georgia Ella Smith McMurray was born July 5th, 1945 in Murfreesboro, TN to the late Mose Smith, Sr. and Mattie Lena Young Smith. She entered into eternal rest on February 12th, 2017 . Georgia professed her life to Christ at an early age. In later years she moved her membership to Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend Sibert. Georgia was educated in the Rutherford County School System. She was employed at Chromalox in Murfreesboro, TN for 9 ½ years and Whirlpool in Lavergne, TN for 25 years until she retired. Georgia’s gentle presence will be deeply missed. Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, Mose Smith, Sr. and Mattie Lena Young Smith; daughter, Debra Denise Smith; Brothers, James “Bo Ellis” Smith, Robert L. Smith & Mose Smith Jr; Grandmother; Mai Ella Youngblood. Georgia leaves to cherish her precious memories, two daughters; Yvonne Smith & Valencia (Carl) Swader all of Murfreesboro, TN ; Three sons; Orlando Smith, Mickael Smith, & Dedrick (Patricia) McMurray all of Murfreesboro, TN; 17 Grandchildren , 22 Great Grandchildren, Sisters; Peggy White from Toledo, Ohio; Sisters & Brothers of The Cheer’s Family; Aunts; Doris(Leonard “Mooney”) Richardson, Lucille (Freddie) Batey, Robbie (Walter) Henry, Cornelia White & Aunts of the Young Family ; Great Aunt; Lula (James) King; Uncles; Henry “Sunny boy” Miller, Vernon “Pappy” Young, Uncles of the Young Family; Devoted Friends; Jerry Gooch, Betty Phelps, Annette Glimpse & Sara Lofton. A Host of Nieces, Nephews, Extended Family & Friends. Visiation will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow in Chapel at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Pastor, John Small officiating. Interment will be in Lovvorn Cemetery.
