Obituary of Thomas Carter III

Thomas "Houston" Carter III, 58, of Murfreesboro, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center after a lengthy battle with cancer. Mr. Carter was a native and life long resident of Rutherford County. He was a 1972 Smyrna High School graduate. He was a member of Church of Christ, was an avid coon hunter, and a longstanding member of the (PKC) Professional Kennel Club. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Houston Carter Jr and Wanda Seward Carter. He is survived by his son, Thomas "Tommy" Houston (Angela) Carter IV of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Thomas Davis Carter; Christian MacColgan Carter; brothers, Walter (Carol) Carter of Murfreesboro; Buford (Stacy) Carter of Murfreesboro; sisters, Faye (Kenneth) Curlee of Murfreesboro; Mai Todd of Murfreesboro; aunt, Mary Wallace of Maryville; several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 12:00 pm until the Memorial Service at 2:00 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Daryl Lewis officiating. In lieu of flowers family ask for donations to be made to Caris Hospice.
