Sad to hear about Coach Nachand. Wishing his family sweet memories and comfort in this time of loss. I always remember coach taking the time to do a great tape wrap on my sprained ankle, even though his players at PRP had so many needs. He always gave so much to everyone. Coach, you will be missed.

I was blessed to have known Dennis as my teacher and later as my colleague and dear friend. I have cherished memories of great times and great conversations. He mentored many students along the way and taught much more than football. His humor, compassion and friendship will be missed by many. He definitely made the world a better place. My love and sympathy to Jeannie and Lee. He loved the two of you, and Miles, so much. Rest in Peace Dennis.

Deepest Sympathy To Dennis's Wife and Family. He was bigger than Life at times when thinking back about Coach Nachand and His Days Coaching and Teaching at Butler. Many of us intentionally took his classes because he enjoyed life and made Our Lives better. When I was a junior at Butler Coach had taken a position at Doss High School. I didn't get to play for him. He was a Great Man and a Big part of the Butler Tradition. I will keep the Nachand Family in my prayers. I am Terribly Sorry For Your Loss.

This was my defensive Coach when I played for PRP. I remember a couple of football payers and myself being invited by Coach over to do some work on his property. This man had us chopping wood moving hay bales, clearing fallen trees etc ..... at the end of the day he gave us $10 each....smh. Thank you Coach Nachand for making a man out of me. RIP Coach

Coach Nachand helped me to be a dedicated and tough athlete at BHS and later at Clemson University, where I played Basketball for the Tigers in the ACC. We were a lucky group of boys who had such good coaches and men to lead use and teach us life lessons, which I used in my 30 yr. career as a HS coach in SC.
Thanks Coach and RIP.

Denny was one of a plethora of fantastic coaches/people who were at Butler High School from the middle '60s into the '70s. I was the only coach who could it more fried chicken than him at our coaches' meetings. We were young and wild and I will never forget him. He was single when he was at Butler and treated all of the players like his sons/brothers. We seldom lost a game, and he was a huge part of making Butler such a special place.

I just wast to say I'm so sorry to the Nachand Family For your loss this is also a Huge loss for me as well you see back in 1981 I was a freshman @PRP high school Coach Nachand was the Defensive coordinator he was a Great Coach a great friend and a father figure as well I respected this man to the fullest he was like a Dad to Me thru the 4 yrs @PRP times were rough as far as wins for PRP in football so Coach Nachand was brought into change things @PRP and we did 3-7 our first 2 yrs and 7-3 my junior yr and my Sr yr we finally turned things around we went from a 3-7 less than 500 team to 10 - 0 my Sr yr I remember Coach wanted to beat his friend who Coached @ southern
So we wanted to beat them for Coach Nachand unfortunately we lost that game by 2 field goals 6-0 we weren't gonna let southern in that end zone for Coach that was my last game I played I was suppose to go to EKU that next yr even tho I went I flunked out my 1st semester and never pursued my football career and I regretted it for 30 yrs I've felt like for 30 yrs I let my Favorite Coach my friend my Father Figure down you see my father died when I was only 10 yrs old so Coach Nachand was my Dad in a sense
I never saw Coach Nachand after my Sr yr and always thought of him from time to time and wondered how he and his family were doing over the yrs I will miss you COACH and I will never forget you and how you took me in like a son and a football player and I'm so sorry I disappointed you will never forget you Coach .......
