Obituary of Denise Shapcott Chumbley

Denise Lee Shapcott Chumbley age 62 of Murfreesboro went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday October 9, 2017. She is preceded in death by her husband; Ronnie Chumbley; step- daughter; Vivian Leigh Allen and step-granddaughter; Jessica Allen.

Mrs. Chumbley is survived by her son; Matthew Chumbley and Joseph Allen both of Murfreesboro,  step-sons; Robert Chumbley and his wife Kathy of Lewisburg, Wade Chumbley of Chapel Hill, her mother; Lynda Shapcott of Murfreesboro and her  father; William Shapcott of Estill Springs. She is also survived by grandson; Payton “Pepe” and step-grandchildren; Tricia, Kasey, Benjamin, Niki, Alex, Brennen, Mya, Elijah and her brother; Butch Shapcott and his wife Vicky of Milton, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Chumbley was retired from the United States Postal Services. Visitation will be Wednesday 4:00PM until 8:00PM at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Thursday at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Goforth and Billy Henson officiating. Interment will be 4:00PM Thursday at Riverside Cemetery in Cannon County with family and friends serving as pallbearers and Dr. David Chapman serving as honorary pallbearer. The family would like to thank the staff at Dr. Chapman’s office for their loving and compassionate care they gave to their daughter, mother, and grandmother.
