Paul "Joe" Hoyt, 72, of La Vergne, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at home. Paul was born on September 19, 1943 in Walton, NY the son of the late Charles and Eva (Conklin) Hoyt. On January 5, 1996 he married the former Wendi Carnes in St. Petersburg, Florida. Paul worked for Nashville Wire in Tennessee until his retirement in 2006. He was a former member of Club Royale Oasis in Walton, NY. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and going shopping where he loved to get a good deal. He also enjoyed collecting lottery tickets for the second chance drawings. He enjoyed spending time with his family, which were the pride of his life. Paul is survived by his loving family, his wife, Wendi; children, Joseph (Agnes) Hoyt of Woodstock, VA, Roger (Shirley) Hoyt of Walton, NY, and Marty (Cindy) Hoyt of Swansea, MA; stepsons, Jason Nyhart of La Vergne, TN, and Jacob (Lisa) Nyhart of Goose Creek, SC; grandchildren, Travis, Taylor, Trista, Stephanie, Bobby, Amber, Cheyenne, Caleb, Morgan, Gloria, Summer, Alan, Daniel, Ariana, Nathan, Sophia, and Isabelle; great- grandchildren, Graysen, Hailey, and Ashleigh; sisters, Martha Stanton, Mary Neale, Grace (James) Wright, brothers, William and Doug Hoyt of Walton, NY; brother in law Millard Finch, his 2 cats Kesse and Ruby, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Charles Hoyt, and sister, Evelyn Finch. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 11 AM to 1 PM at Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton where services will be held at 1 PM with Rev. Lisa Ruth Mays officiating. Burial will follow in the Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton. Memorial Contributions in Paul’s memory may be made to American Cancer Society, 5 Oak Street, Sidney, New York 13838 or Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203.
