Obituary of Gloria Spurgeon

Gloria Mae Spurgeon, 61, of Murfreesboro, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at Stonecrest Medical Center. A native of Pontiac, Michigan she was a resident of Murfreesboro. She was a homemaker, member of Calvary Baptist Church and a patient advocate with Kidney Foundation Healthcare and supported various church organizations providing meals, mentorship and prayer partner with the youth. Ms. Spurgeon was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Mae White; sister, Gail Ann White; brother, Roger Thomas. She is survived by her father, Thomas H. White of Anacoco, LA; daughter, Katrina Waldrip of Rockvale; son, Vernon Spurgeon of Hornbeck, LA; sister, Barbara Gannon of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Ian Waldrip, Joshua Waldrip, Gabrielle Spurgeon and Alexis Spurgeon. Funeral service will be 11 am Thursday, February 28, 2008 at the Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Dr. Mark Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens in Huntsville, Alabama. The family will receive friends 9:00 am until 11:00 am Thursday, February 28, 2008 at the Murfreesboro Funeral Home.
