Obituary of Kurt Alan Williams

Please share a memory of Kurt to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kurt "Grumps" Williams, 62, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away on December 29, 2023. He was born on May 31, 1961, in Fargo, North Dakota. Kurt was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He is survived by his loving wife Karen Williams, three daughters Kirstin, Kasandra, and Kaylah, two grandchildren Rowan Schleicher and Broly Fritschow, his sister Robin Williams, and his mother Linda Williams. Kurt was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Williams. Kurt had a vibrant personality and a wide range of interests. He was a passionate Minnesota Vikings Super Fan and took great pride in supporting his team. On Football Sundays, it was a common sight to see Kurt wearing his signature Vikings shirt. His love for sports extended beyond football, and he had a deep knowledge and passion for various sports. Kurt was also an accomplished bowler, having achieved seven certified "perfect" (300) games. He had an uncanny ability to absorb useless trivia and often impressed others with his vast knowledge, even anticipating answers on Jeopardy before they appeared on screen. Kurt's creativity and skill were evident in his hobby of creating custom cornhole bags and boards. His talent was so exceptional that he turned it into a successful business, with demand skyrocketing due to word-of-mouth recommendations. Despite his tough exterior, Kurt had a heart of gold and loved his family with unwavering fervor. He adored his wife, daughters, and grandchildren, and they never doubted his love for them. Kurt's office was adorned with a handwritten letter from his granddaughter Rowan, a testament to the special bond they shared. Throughout his career, Kurt worked for over 15 years as a Warehouse Manager for Global Industrial Components (GIC). His dedication and hard work made him a respected and valued member of the company. A memorial service to celebrate Kurt's life will be held on Saturday, January 6th, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Central Time at Murfreesboro Funeral Home in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Kurt's memory to a charity of your choice. We extend our deepest condolences to Kurt's family and friends during this difficult time. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew and loved him.
