James Edward Williams "Eddy" age 72 passed away December 28, 2023, at Vanderbilt Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born June 2, 1951, to the late Martha Louise Lamb Williams and the late Bain Edon Williams. In addition to his parents, Eddy was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Williams, granddaughter, AudreyOuna Martinez, in-laws Robert and Katherine Ross, and a brother-in-law, Bobby Ross. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam where he was honored with a Medal of Commendation. He was a retired truck driver, avid breeder of Tennessee Walking Horses, loved hunting, and Alabama football. Eddy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shelby Ross Williams; children Karol Ibiyemi, Christy Williams Long (Steve) and Eric Williams (Sarah). His sister, Brenda Williams Boyd (Rodney), grandchildren Dominick Martinez, Brennan K. Lewellen, Blake Williams (Payton), Brian Williams (Jessica), Devin Nolan, Lea DeHerrera. Step grandchildren Caiti Long, Carmen Long, Audrey Gray and Mikey Gray. He had 5 great grandchildren, one step great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones when a celebration of life is scheduled in the future.
