Annabelle C. Patton, age 97 of Smyrna, died Wednesday, June 14, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband Dewey Patton Jr., her parents, Harold and Francis Cox Cessna, her son, Philip Patton, grandson, Phillip Michael Booth and great grandson, Cole Walters and brother Donald Cessna. Survivors include sister, Rachel Spreen of IN, children Gary (Ann) Patton, Duane (Lisa) Patton, Gwen (Phillip) Booth, Peter (Cindy) Patton, Susan (Jerry) Kindred and Greg Patton. 19 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Annabelle was born in Williams, IN on 11 August, 1925 to Harold Cessna and Francis Cox Cessna. After graduating from Williams, IN High School, she went to work as an office clerk. She married Dewey Patton Jr. on September 28, 1945. They were married for 70 years. She enjoyed traveling with Dewey while he was in the Air Force. In 1971, Dewey and Ann moved back to Smyrna, where she lived til 2021. Ann was a servant at heart. She volunteered for the American Red Cross for 35 years working blood mobiles across Rutherford County. She enjoyed working at the polls during election time in Smyrna. She also volunteered at the Veteran Hospital in Murfreesboro ant the old Smyrna Hospital. Ann was a member of Highland Heights church of Christ in Smyrna, where she was involved in many activities. She enjoyed her miniature horses, gardening, yard work and traveling. Graveside services will be Friday, June 16, 2023 at 2:00pm at Mapleview Cemetery in Smyrna, TN. Sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. She will be buried beside her husband. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Lawrence Gardner Fund, Highland Heights church of Christ, Smyrna, TN. Murfreesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services 615-896-2229
