Ezaura (Borges) Couto, age 93, passed away at Community Care of Rutherford County in Murfreesboro, TN on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. She was the widow of the late John A. Couto. They were married for 57 years at the time of his death. Mrs. Couto worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber in New Bedford, Mass. where she met her husband. She later worked in sweatshops, finally working as a librarian at the New Bedford Public Library and also the Casa da Saudade Library until her retirement in 1984. She is survived by a son,Manuel L. (Skip) Couto and a daughter, Liane R. Robinson and her husband Arthur W. Robinson, Jr.of Tennessee.Mrs. Couto had two grandsons, Arthur W. Robinson, III and Adam J. Robinson and two great granddaughters, Ariana Robinson and Alena Robinson. She was the mother of the late Sharyn E.A. Couto. Preceded in death by her sister, Dorthea and her husband Edward Soares, Geraldina and her husband John Carvalho, Dolores and her husband Henry Reynolds and a brother, Liberal (Libby) Borges and his wife Irene. She has many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Couto enjoyed spending time with her family whom she loved so much. She also enjoyed doing puzzles, word search and knitting and crocheting. She was always ready to give a hand when it came to helping organizations like Alzheimer's and Toys for Tots by making and selling her beautiful items and donating to these causes. In her younger years she enjoyed dancing at the Portuguese Club in New Bedford with her husband. She touched the hearts of many with her pleasant personality and became a second mom to them. She will be sorely missed. Memorial services will be held at a later date at St. Rosa of Lima. There will be no visitation at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.
