Catherine Jane Elkins, age 67 of Murfreesboro, TN passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

She was born on May 13, 1959, in Nashville, TN to the late George Clark and Harriett Sullivan Clark.

Cathy was a member of East Main Church of Christ.

She retired from the State of Tennessee as an IT Specialist after 40 years.

She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Dawson Mendoza.

She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Dale Elkins; daughters, Regina (Larry) Maddin; Jennifer (Robert) Baker; Megan (Michael Hartelroad) Elkins; grandchildren, Bryan (Katie Morgan) Gibbs; Justin Maddin; Robert Baker Jr.; James Baker; Corey Laughlin; DJ Laughlin; brothers, Jack (Nicki) Clark; Matt (Mary) Clark; sisters, Dot Morgan; Brenda Clark; and a host of extended family members.

Cathy loved staining glass, arts and crafts, but most of all she enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 1:00pm – 4:00pm with the Celebration of Life service to follow in the chapel. Chaplain Cathleen Dithrich will be officiating.
