Gary Wayne Jones Obituary
We celebrate the life and memory of Gary Jones, who passed away on August 14th at the age of 70.
Gary was a devoted father, a loyal friend, and a steady presence in the lives of everyone who knew him. He was one of the most selfless men you could ever meet. He was always willing to go out on an extra mile to help those in need. He was there. He was present and never expected anything in return.
Gary loved the outdoors, it was where he was happiest. Whether it was going on walks with his pups or riding in his boat trying to catch the biggest and fattest catfish.
Being a father was one of the most important parts of Gary’s life. He loved his daughter Caitlynn deeply and showed love not only through his words, but through everything he did for her. He was always there to lend a helping hand, give encouragement, or make sure she knew she never had to face anything alone. He was the type of father you could call at midnight and say, “Hey my car broke down,” and he’d be there to help you fix it, no matter how far the drive was.
Gary was also a loving and devoted husband to his wife Aileen Jones. Their love story is quite beautiful actually; She came down to Nashville from Ireland never knowing she’d find love in a country boy.
When she and Gary met there was an instant spark between them, and from there that’s where their love story began. Gary loved her very much and took care of her on her hardest days. She could be a pain in his side from time to time, but even then, he was still there. Still present. And still in love with her just as he was all those years ago. Their love wasn’t perfect, but it was real, and full of devotion. Gary stood by Aileen through the good days and the difficult ones, and he never stopped loving her. That kind of love is a beautiful part of the legacy he leaves behind.
Gary leaves behind his beloved wife, Aileen Jones, and his daughters Caitlynn Jones and Tanya Jones, who was the light of his life. As well as his stepsons, Greg Campbell, Scott Campbell, and Glen Campbell. He also leaves behind the family, friends, and loved ones whose lives he touched throughout his 70 years. Though his absence leaves a space that can never be filled, the love he gave, the many memories he created, and the lessons he taught will remain with them all forever.
Gary leaves behind more than memories. He leaves behind the example of a man who gave freely, loved deeply, and showed up for the people who needed him the most, no matter how big or small the situation. His greatest legacy will not be measured by what he had, but by what he gave. His time, his love, his kindness, and himself. He will be deeply missed, but the impact he made will remain for generations to come.
Visitation with the family will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on August 22, 2026 from 10am - 1pm with a Celebration of Life service to follow. Pastor Bob Bush will be officiating.
