Gary Dale Sanders, 77, went home to be with the Lord on July 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Gary was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to William Rye Sanders and Clemma Mae Sanders, both of whom preceded him in death.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Gene Sanders.

Gary was raised in Lewisburg, Tennessee, where he developed the values of hard work, dedication, and service that guided him throughout his life.

Gary proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for two years during the Vietnam War as a truck driver. Following his military service, he earned his Welding Certificate and began a long career with Bridgestone, where he worked faithfully until his retirement.

Gary shared 22 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Violy Sanders. Together they were blessed with their beautiful daughter, Grace.

Gary leaves behind a legacy through his children: Justin Sanders, Troy Sanders, Grace Sanders, and daughter in law Connie Sanders. He will be remembered for his love of family, his faithful service to his country, his strong work ethic, and the many lives he touched throughout his 77 years.

Visitation with the family will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Thursday, July16, 2026 from 1:00pm - 5;00pm with the service to follow at 5:00pm in the chapel. Pastor Kevin Goza will be officiating. Interment will be at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 9:00am.
