Daniel L. Ashworth, age 53 of Murfreesboro, passed away on Saturday July 4th, 2026 at Ascension Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN. He was born in Jackson, MI on May 9, 1973. He was retired from The Mulch Company in Nashville as Operations Manager. Previous experience of logging and heavy equipment reflected his love for the outdoors which included hunting and fishing. His kindness, generosity, sense of humor and quick wit touched everyone who knew him.

Daniel will be missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Melanie Shirley, brother Art Ashworth Jr, sisters Karen Carr and Angela Detoy. Many cousins, nieces, nephews and his loyal canine companion, Abby.

Preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Patricia Ashworth Sr. and brother Patrick Ashworth. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial donations be made to a local animal shelter.
