Brian Kelly Hester, known affectionately by many names — Mr. Kelly, Kelly Wayne, Special K, BK, and Dad — passed away on Tuesday October 21st at 66 years old, leaving behind countless memories, laughter, and stories that will be told for years to come. He was born in Manchester, Tennessee, on November 6, 1958.
Mr. Kelly was a man of many talents and even more passions. If it had wheels, an engine, or a bit of adventure to it, he mastered it — from horseback riding and motorcycles to four-wheelers, water skiing, fishing, camping, hunting, and farm life. There truly wasn’t anything he couldn’t do, and he made it all look easy.
No one could outtalk Mr. Kelly — not for lack of trying. His quick wit, magnetic personality, and boundless charm made him the life of every gathering. He loved fellowship more than anything, finding joy in simply being surrounded by people, sharing stories, and drinking a beer. Mr. Kelly was also an enthusiast in every sense of the word — fascinated by gadgets of all kinds, whether it was a new gun, knife, flashlight, or kitchen appliance.
Beyond all the fun, humor, and endless hobbies, Mr. Kelly will be remembered most as a lover of people. His 36 years working at Bridgestone and lifelong residency in Beech Grove, Tennessee, touched many lives and built lasting friendships.
Mr. Kelly’s spirit will continue to live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the many lives he touched.
Visitation with the family will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 from 10am 1pm with the service to follow at 1pm in the chapel. Interment will follow at Beechgrove Cemetery.
