Turpin, Betty Lou Holder – age 91, of Sweetwater, went home to be with her dear Lord and Savior on October 21, 2025. With her husband, Frank, she was a founding member of Christ Presbyterian Church where she supported VBS and other activities, using her crafting talents to
provide activities for student enjoyment. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her family, camping with her husband Frank (Debo), and crafting.
She was born August 13th, 1934. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Leon Holder, brother Richard, her husband of
53 years Frank (Debo), and great grandsons James and Henry Hargrove.
Survivors include brothers William D (Doug) and Scott Holder, sister Lisa Meadows, sons Mike and Alan, daughters-in-law Susan and Mitzi, grandchildren Alison Hargrove and Eric Turpin, great grandchildren Alexis French, Melody and Silas Hargrove, Landon Bowen, and Everett and Grayson Turpin, as well as several nieces and nephews. While her sons were still in school, she worked in the cafeteria of Brown Intermediate School, and after the boys left home, at White Stores and Gemtron. The family would like to thank the staff of the Villages of Murfreesboro independent living and memory care for their compassionate care of our loved one for the last 6 years.
The family will receive friends at Sweetwater Memory Chapel on Saturday, October 25 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with interment to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be given to Christ Presbyterian Church in Sweetwater, TN, Samaritan’s Purse, or your local Gideons’ camp.
