Brad Lee Snider Obituary

Brad Lee Snider, of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away on September 19, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 5, 1951, in Bad Axe, MI, to John and Virginia Snider. The family later moved to Davison, MI, where Brad grew up and graduated from Davison High School.

Brad was a gifted athlete, but it was on the golf course – playing at Davison Country Club with his father – that he discovered his lifelong passion. Golf became not only his career but also a central part of his identity.

While working as a young bell hop and finding his way in life, Brad met the love of his life, Val, at a gold course. Together they built a life full of family, friendship, and a shared love for the game.

Brad’s professional career in golf was remarkable. He became the Head Golf Professional at Countryside Country Club from 1974-1992 and later served as the Head Golf Professional at Dothan Country Club in Dothan, AL, from 1992-2004. He was a proud member of the Professional Golfers’ Association for 51 years. Dothan Country Club held a special place in his heart, as it gave him the opportunity to share his talent and passion for the game with countless players, teaching them not only golf, but also the joy of the sport.

After retiring from the golf business, Brad worked at Mobile Fixture & Equipment Company, putting his meticulous organizational skills to use as an inventory specialist for 10 years. Upon retirement, Brad devoted himself to his greatest loves – his wife, his children, and his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching any sporting event, spending time with family, and, of course, playing golf whenever he could.

Brad was preceded in death by his father, John Snider. He is survived by his mother, Virginia Snider; his beloved wife, Val Snider; his daughter, Stacie Whitlock, and her husband, Ben; his son, Brian Snider, and his wife, Lauren; and his cherished grandchildren, Abby Whitlock, Hogan Whitlock, Joe Snider, and Gemma Snider. He also leaves behind his siblings, Jeff Snider and wife Diana; Chris Snider; and Andrea Harper and husband Lance, along with their children and grandchildren. Brad’s faithful dog, Maci, was also a constant companion by his side.

Brad will be fondly remembered as an extraordinary husband, father, grandfather, brother, professional, and friend. His legacy lives on through the love he shared and the countless lives he touched both on and off the golf course.
