Carla Kent Ford age 65 of Smithville, TN passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025 peacefully at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Born July 23, 1959 in Alabama to Arnold Sr. and Mary Kent (Libby).

She is preceded in death by her father Arnold Kent and her son Stephen Ford.

She attended UT Knoxville where she received her Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 1989.

Carla had her own private law practice in Murfreesboro, TN for 28 years.

She was a die hard Alabama football fan and never missed a game.

Some of her favorite things include decorating the house for every holiday and celebrating with her family. She loved to look at fireworks and Christmas lights. Her family would fight over her fresh baked pies and potato salad.

When she wasn't celebrating holidays with the family she was at one of her children's activities or traveling with them to theme parks, the beach, on the boat at the lake, water skiing, going to the movies, or gardening.

She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years Wilford Ford (WW) and a special friend who was more like a sister Jennifer Bogle.

Her surviving children are Mandy Ford Gatz (Don), James Taylor, Michael Ford (Audrey), Brandon Ford, Douglas Ford (Alycia), Dalton Buckler (Devin), Kristyanna Ford, Kaidan Ford, and Daniel Ford. Along with countless other children who she fostered over the years.

Her grandkids include Kristopher, Sydney Andrews, Katie Lynch, Tyler Lynch, Carmen, Nicholas, Mason, Walter, and Willow.

She had one great grandchild Riley.

Visitation will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on July 5, 2025 from 1-4 pm. The service is to follow.
