Sherry Anne Amos, 84 of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Friday, March 28, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, April 6 from 12-2 p.m. at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Sherry was born on June 17, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah to David C. and Bonnie M. Brown. She graduated from Santa Ana High School in Santa Ana, CA. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in education from Oklahoma State University and her Master’s Degree from Middle Tennessee State University. She is a retired school teacher from Rutherford and Davidson County Schools. Sherry loved gardening, baking, sewing, and reading, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid Oklahoma State Cowboy and St. Louis Cardinal fan. Sherry was proceeded in death by her husband of 58 years, Joseph. She is survived by her five children; Janelle Heathman (Elmer), Scott Amos, Bonnie Sawyers, Josh Amos (Sandy), and D’ann Cooper (Terry); sisters; Geralynn Langhoff, Kerrie Nelson, and brother David Brown (Cathy); grandchildren, Justin Wiser (Stephanie), Dustin Amos, Brittany Lloyd, Brennan Amos (Meredith), Robbie Cooper (Kacie), Abby Davis (Jesse), Spencer Cooper (Tori), and Trey Sawyers (Chelsea); and 18 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shalom Hospice, 5409 Maryland Way Suite 212, Brentwood, TN 37027. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to The Villages of Murfreesboro Independent Living and Memory Care for their unwavering love, compassion, and care over the past four years and to Shalom Hospice. Arrangements were made through Murfreesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 145 Innsbrooke Blvd, Murfreesboro, TN 37128.
